When @ele and @lozenge123 addressed comments to me yesterday, I received no email notifications. I had changed my preferences so that I would only receive new question notification, and the "@" notification when someone comments to me saying "@Grace, ..." I get the new questions just fine, but not the other.

Also, I wonder if you could help me on another issue, I guess its a bit silly, but I would like to correct it if I can. I noticed that my votes show that I have made two "down" votes. One must have been a mistake; I have only ever intentionally done that one time, when I felt I'd been tricked by an advertiser. The list in my profile showing my votes only goes back a day or two. Is there any way for me to find and correct my unintentional "down" vote? I would appreciate it, if possible.

Thank you for your help. Also, I want to apologize for the mess I made of your simple request for suggestions on chatting. I feel very foolish, and I muddled up the thread. Sorry! .

You are not receiving @Grace emails because we have now disabled that function. There is an explanation here:

Regarding your second question, you would not be able to correct your downvote even if we found it for you. There is a one-day time window only for changing a vote that has been cast. As an unintended side-effect of migrating Inward Quest to new software at the start of 2012, most - perhaps all, I haven't checked - users who have never down-voted found themselves with two downvotes so your profile will not look unusual as it is.

Thanks, Simon. That explains it.

About my unintended down vote - I was not concerned about whether it would look unusual; that hadn't crossed my mind. I just felt that I had been sloppy and unfair to a fellow IQer, who may have felt that vote keenly. I understand that it isn't possible to find and change, I just wanted to clarify what I meant. It's been bugging me. :)
